By Lisa KavanaghSydney, Australia – A pizza chain is planning to open a restaurant in Sydney’s inner west with a new 5 star pizza in the works.
Cici Pizza & Co has already opened a store in Sydney, and the company is currently planning to build a restaurant and restaurant space at the site of the former Clici Pizza.
Crici Pizza owner and CEO, Andrew Mottram said the company was looking to open its first restaurant in the inner west in 2018.
“We’ve been in talks with a few other locations around the city, and Sydney’s got a good mix of young professionals, families, and retirees,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to expand into the outer suburbs and get the business up and running.”
Mottram has also launched a food truck, called Pizza Truck, in Sydney.
He said the project would not be cheap, with construction costing about $200,000.
“Our initial plans are to spend about $100,000 on the initial stages, and we’ll be able to get some of that down over time,” he explained.
“And then once we’ve got the business, then we’ll build out the restaurant and the truck.”
Mr Mottrams plans to build about 30 new restaurants and 20 trucks, while expanding his business into other areas of Sydney and the wider state of Victoria.
