A pizza chain in Delhi, India is known as Little Caesar’s Pizza.
But what is the origin of its name?
According to an article in the Hindustan Times, it was given by an animal handler who was looking for a new name for his company after it was sold to an international pizza chain.
“The handler’s name was ‘Little Caesar’ and his daughter’s name is Chihuahua,” a spokesperson from the chain told the Times.
“She has since adopted the name for her dog.”
Little Caesar’s owner said that the name was given to him by a friend who wanted to use the name.
He also said that they were not sure why the name became popular in India.
“I didn’t know the origin,” he told the newspaper.
“I thought it was because of my dog.
But when we started our business, the name got more and more popular.”
According to the Times, the restaurant has a total of 842 employees.
The chain is based in the western Indian city of Jaipur.
