A pizza joint in southern Italy is getting ready for its first anniversary in 2018.
According to the Associated Press, a pizza joint called Italian Pizza in L’Aquila, Italy is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
L’Aqua Pizza, which opened in 2001, is now open every day for lunch, dinner, and drinks.
Owner Andrea Pignotti said he doesn’t think there will be a change in the menu this year, but plans to serve healthier options.
“We’re going to do the same things as we did in 2001,” Pignotta said.
“I think we’re going for the same pizzas, we’re trying to keep the same menu, but we’re doing more healthier choices, with less salt and more freshness.”
The restaurant, which has been open since the 1970s, has more than 3,500 square feet and sells pizza, sandwiches, salads, and wraps.
Pignotta told the AP that the company is looking for new business customers and expanding its footprint in Italy.
Italian pizza is an iconic food, and this is one of the first times it will be available on a larger scale in Italy,” Pernotti said.
