The pizza chain has apologized after flyers that appeared to reference the Ku Klux Klan and the Nazis appeared on flyers placed on its pizzas in New York City.
The flyers were displayed in three different locations in Manhattan, including the pizza shop owned by Vinny DeBartolo, who is African American.
DeBartolos father, former President George H.W. Bush, served as a top aide to George W. Bush.
He also served as vice president and secretary of state under former President Bill Clinton.
The campaign of DeBarts father, Donald Trump, released a statement saying the flyers were “taken out of context and are a serious violation of our company’s values and beliefs.”
“We will continue to take swift and decisive action against any such conduct,” the statement said.
“We do not condone hate speech, which is against our values and the very essence of American democracy,” it added.
DeSantis told The New York Times that he was shocked to see the flyers in the store, which he said was not a “family friendly establishment.”
“I think that they should have a clear policy on what’s offensive and what’s not, but it’s just an innocent mistake on their part,” he said.
